Filed under: Ravens, Steelers, AFC NorthYesterday we in the sports world were lucky enough to learn that Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens admitted on a radio show that the team had a bounty out on the Steelers Hines Ward. Suggs said on the 2 Live Stews radio show that there was a team bounty on knocking out Ward and as you would imagine, the team is backtracking on such a statement. Get outta here!
Earlier this morning Kevin Byres, Senior V.P. of Public and Community Relations for the Ravens, told the great everything he wants us to hear. No, of course nobody wants to hurt anyone. No, there isn’t a bounty out, it’s more of a “theory.” No, maliciousness and the NFL are like oil and water.
“[I] just asked Suggs about this and his reply was: ‘You know, bounties, like sending a message that it’s going to be a long day for you that you’re not the one who is going to get it done today,” Byres said.
Wait, what?? We are in such a technological age that a bounty is now sending mildly aggressive text messages? Somewhere Blackbeard the Pirate is rolling in his grave.Continue Reading
