McNabb fuels Philly into playoffs
Donovan McNabb flexed his muscles, seemingly mocking Terrell Owens. The always stoic Andy Reid played cheerleader, encouraging the crowd to make noise.

Many fans may not want the quarterback or coach back for another season. But they'll be here for at least one more game -- a playoff game.

Philadelphia overcame daunting odds to capture an NFC wild-card spot with a dominating 44-6 victory over the Cowboys on Sunday.

McNabb threw two touchdown passes and ran for another, and Brian Dawkins forced two fumbles that were returned for scores.

"They just handed us an old-fashioned butt whipping," Owens said.

Browns bottom out: Cleveland's 31-0 loss to the Steelers likely was Romeo Crennel's last as the Browns' coach. Here are a few reasons why:

*The offense failed to score a TD for six games and 24 quarters, an NFL record. The 1974 Bears went 22 quarters.

*The Browns were shut out in successive games for the first time in franchise history.

*Crennel is the only full-time coach in team history to not beat Pittsburgh, going 0-8.

Milestone mania: A big day for the Colts: Peyton Manning extended his own NFL record for 4,000-yard passing seasons to nine; Marvin Harrison caught seven passes for 1,102 career receptions, moving him past Cris Carter for second all time; Dallas Clark broke the club's single-season record for yards by a tight end. He has 848, 19 more than John Mackey's mark in 1966.

*Adrian Peterson became the fifth player in NFL history to run for 3,000 yards in his first two years, joining Eric Dickerson, Edgerrin James, Earl Campbell and Clinton Portis.

*Derrick Ward gave the Giants a pair of 1,000-yard running backs -- only the fourth such tandem in NFL history. Brandon Jacobs got there earlier this month. The last teammates to do that in the same season were the Browns' Kevin Mack and Earnest Byner in 1985.

Injury report: The St. Petersburg Times reported that Bucs running back Cadillac Williams tore the patellar tendon in his left knee, the same injury he suffered in his right knee in 2007. Williams, who ran for two TDs before leaving in the fourth, spent nearly 14 months coming back from last year's injury. ... Brett Favre will have an MRI on his ailing right shoulder, a procedure that will help the 39-year-old quarterback decide whether he'll return for another season with the Jets. ... Ben Roethlisberger gave the Steelers a scare by suffering a concussion but the quarterback is expected to be ready for the playoffs.
