--S Ryan Clark, a former teammate of the late Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins, was fined $5,000 by the NFL for wearing Taylor's No. 21 etched into his eye black last Sunday. Clark, who is No. 25, honors Taylor by wearing a No. 21 practice jersey.
Clark, who returned to start at free safety this year after missing more than half of last season, is the Ed Block Courage Award winner for the Steelers.
--The NFL Players Association may file a grievance against the Steelers for fining Santonio Holmes and making him inactive for last Sunday's game against the Giants.
--"I'm not concerned about their view about whether we chose to activate him," coach Mike Tomlin said. "We've got 53 men on the team. We choose to activate 45 for a particular game. That's what we chose to do and we move forward."
