--WR Hines Ward keeps on ticking. At age 32, he had one of his best seasons. He caught 81 passes for 1,043 yards, the first time he's topped 80 and 1,000 since 2004. He also caught his 800th career pass, extending his team record. No. 2 is Hall of Famer John Stallworth at 537.
"That's a lot of catches, man," Ward said. "Eight hundred catches for this organization means a great deal to me."
--The Steelers finished with 51 sacks, their most since they tied their team record of 55 in 2001. James Harrison, who did not play Sunday because of a hip pointer, previously set the individual record with 16.
--The goal by the Steelers defense to finish 1-1-1 across the board came up just short. They finished No. 1 overall, No. 1 against the pass and No. 2 against the rush. Minnesota's defense was No. 1 against the run, allowing an average of 76.9 yards per game to the Steelers' 80.2.
