PLAYER NOTES
--DE Brett Keisel went through a full practice on Wednesday and will try to return after missing the past three games with a sprained left MCL.
--DE Aaron Smith, snubbed again in the voting for the Pro Bowl, earned his first AFC Defensive Player of the Week award. Smith had eight tackles, a sack and two QB pressures in a 13-9 victory against the Ravens.
--QB Ben Roethlisberger has thrown one interception in the past five games, all victories. He has not had a 100 passer rating, though, since he had four in the first six games.
--NT Casey Hampton, bothered by injuries much of the season, is as healthy as he's been and his past three games have been his best -- his only sack, his only pass defense and his only two 4-tackle games this year.
--CB Anthony Madison leads the Steelers with 22 special teams tackles, including a team-high 15 solos.
GAME PLAN: No one's been able to run or pass much against Tennessee this year but with two defensive linemen out, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Albert Haynesworth, the Steelers believe it opens up more to their passing game. On defense, they want to sell out to stop the run and let Kerry Collins try to beat them.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Titans SS Chris Hope vs. Steelers WR Hines Ward. Former teammates and still friendly, Hope made the Pro Bowl for the first time and must watch for the famous Ward blocks.
Smash and Dash, Titans ground game, No. 5 in the league, vs. Steelers No. 2 defense vs. the run.
Titans K Rob Bironas vs. Steelers K Jeff Reed. Both snubbed for the Pro Bowl, they could be the difference in a defensive struggle.
INJURY IMPACT: LT Marvel Smith (back) will miss his 10th straight game, and Max Starks makes his 10th start. ... Other injuries that kept players on the sideline at Wednesday's practice are not considered serious enough to keep them out of the game Sunday.
