Refs can ruin fantasy too
Fantasy Football can be a harsh mistress. You could spend more time studying Mike Shanahan's running-back rotation than for a college final and prepare more for your draft than your wedding, but sometimes the difference between a win and a loss is human error or just plain dumb luck.

I have to continually remind my patients that Football isn't an exact science, and the bizarre end to Sunday's Steelers-Chargers game is Exhibit A. Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu clearly scored a TD off a botched San Diego lateral at the end of the game, but the refs decided to take the points off the board. If you owned the Steelers D, you had six points erased that may have cost you a win. It's an injustice that is part of the game. It's why I stick by the old adage, "You win some, you lose some, and throw your remote through your TV."

A stiff glass of Ginn

Ted Ginn Jr. is becoming a poor man's Devin Hester (who is himself a poor man's Devin Hester these days). His 40-yard TD run Sunday showed the speedy Dolphins receiver and returner is a nice weapon. But like Hester, Ginn Jr. is inconsistent and could put up one fantasy point as easily as 14. He's a risky start.

K.C. masterpiece

After tossing his fourth straight solid game, Tyler Thigpen is staking his place as the best Thigpen in sports since ex-White Sox pitcher Bobby Thigpen. Tyler may not be on a Drew Brees/Kurt Warner level yet, but if you're in a deep league, you might consider using him against a fading Bills team in Week 12.

Favorable Week 12 matchups

- Ben Roethlisberger and the tattered Steelers O get the declawed Bengals defense in Week 12. Willie Parker is a good start, and Big Ben isn't a bad one.

- LaDainian Tomlinson may have struggled against the stout Steelers run defense, but look for The Visored One to get back on track against the Colts.
